Zhejiang University

Zhejiang University is a comprehensive national university. Founded in 1897, Zhejiang University was initially known as “Qiushi Shuyuan” (Qiushi Academy), one of the earliest modern academies of higher learning established in China.

The university had its first enrollment of international students in 1979 and since then, more than 25,000 international students have come to study in the school. In 2010, the International College gave admission to, both long-term and short-term, more than 4,150 overseas students coming from 128 countries across the world, including 180 doctoral candidates, 258 graduate students, 1295 undergraduate students, 354 visiting students,  1,184 long-term Chinese language students and 884 students of short-term programs.
