NUC is a multi-disciplinary university, encompassing engineering, science, liberal arts, economics, management, law, and education.
NUC, covering an area of 156.10 hectares, neighbors beautiful scenery of green mountains and a murmuring river. It consists of 14 schools; and has been authorized to confer Doctorate, Master, and Bachelor Degrees. Full time enrollment stands at 35000, including 3000 Ph.D. and Master Candidates.
NUC has two First Level Disciplines authorized to offer Doctorate Degrees by the Office of Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council; 18 Ph.D. programs; two mobile post-doctoral centers; 11 First Level Disciplines authorized to offer Master Degrees by the Office of Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council; 58 Master programs; and 62 Bachelor programs.
The University features 14 Provincial or Ministerial key disciplines and houses 12 State, Provincial, or Ministerial key laboratories, bases, and research centers.
Through 68 years of glorious history, NUC has cultivated a great number of scientific research and unique talents (unique scientific research talents). The fund for scientific and technological development reached 150 million RMB in 2007. It has achieved tremendous accomplishments in a great number of programs, some of which have won high-level awards. Graduates from the University are highly acclaimed by both employers and society at large. The employment rate for graduates resides over 90% for the long term. To date, more than 70 000 professionals claim NUC as their alma mater.
