Hebei University of Technology

Established in 1903, Hebei University of Technology (HUT) remains one of China's oldest and most important universities. Located in the City of Tianjin (pop. 10 million), the third most populous city in China, HUT is a key provincial university as well as one of the national "Project 211"universities in China. While HUT specializes in technological studies, the administrative curriculum also prioritizes academic study in the fields of science, economics , management, arts, and law, making HUT a balanced, multidisciplinary institution offering 56 undergraduate and graduate programs, including 15 masters programs in engineering, 17 doctoral programs, and 7 post-doctoral research stations. Additionally, students may enroll in one of HUT's 2 National Key or 15 Provincial Key programs of academic study.

HUT is comprised of 4 campuses in Tianjin City proper and two campuses in Langfang City, altogether totalling a land area of 300 acres. 31,000 full time students, including 3,500 graduate and doctoral students, currently pursue degrees at HUT, and the university administration expects an increase in these numbers to around 50,000 students during the next five years.

HUT encourages excellent quality instruction from its more than 600 professors and associate professors, and has developed 2 special professor positions and a Changjiang Scholar Appraise Plan to further ensure that HUT students receive optimal instruction in their chosen field.
Further, HUT is reknowned for pioneering an approach to education that combines academic study and practical experience; the university runs a technological factory where students have a hands-on opportunity to practice newly acquired academic knowledge and skills. During its 100 year history, HUT has continually been devoted to rigorous and pragmatic teaching methodologies while promoting creative ability and collectivism.

In addition to teaching and scientific research, HUT has also been committed to international educational cooperation, generating international exchange programs with more than 40 partner universities in the United States, Great Britain, Germany, France, Spain, Russia, Australia, New Zealand, Finland, Sweden and Japan.
