It is a provincial high vocation academy college, approved by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and governed by Department of Education of Hebei province. For the past 20 years this College has recruited students throughout China. The graduates from this college have had the opportunity to gain experience and employment with various companies within China and abroad.
HBCIT is located in the southwest of Shijiazhuang city, Hebei Province and has an enrollment of over 8000 students. The college area of 499398 square meters includes teaching buildings, library, lab buildings, administration building, training buildings, auditorium, dining halls, student dormitories, and 400-metre-long standard playgrounds.
There are seven departments as follows: Metal Material Engineering, Environmental and Chemical Engineering, Mechanical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Technology , Law and Economic trade, Architectural Engineering and Information and Automation.
The program focus is mainly based on engineering courses together with 69
applied technological programs and includes Art, Accounting, Economics and Trade and Business Management. Among them,the Metal Material Engineering course is regarded as the State Pilot Major in Chinese teaching reform. Modern Household Service, Environmental Supervision, Testing and Management, Number Controlling, Applied Chemical Technology, Software Technology and Accounting are referred to as the Hebei Provincial Pilot Majors.
There are 635 staff members in HBCIT.HBCIT has a team of “ teachers” who have high academic levels as well as an experienced practical background.
HBCIT has been adhering to the principle of opening to the outside world. Twenty- two teachers have been sent to Germany, America, Canada, Australia and Thailand for further learning and experience. Foreign language teachers have been introduced to teach oral and practical English use to our students. HBCIT was approved to be one of the international exchange schools under the Sino-Canada joint venture educational exchange program. In 2001, a joint venture program was set up on Hotel Management with a TST International Company in Singapore. In 2002, another joint venture program was set up on Accounting and Computer Networking and Technical Support between our college and Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology in Canada. Now several students under this program are studying in Canada. In May of this year, A Top-Up program was made between our college and famous U.K. universities. According to the Top-Up agreement, our graduates can go to the U.K. to study for their Bachelor degree and Master degree if they so choose. Our College has the experience and professionalism to implement and see the joint venture programs through to a successful conclusion .
In 2000,HBCIT gained the qualification of employing foreign teachers which was issued by State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs.There has been more than 10 foreign teachers to work in HBCIT since then.
HBCIT places great emphasis on the employment of its graduates. A guidance office for recruitment and employment was set up very early in China and our college has established good business relationships through this. We have professional working relationships with many famous companies in China and many of our graduates have gained employment within these companies.
HBCIT has gained recognition from Hebei province and from the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China as one of the top vocational colleges in China.
Now HBCIT is trying its best to contribute to the local economic construction and to reach the first-rate vocational college around China.
