Aim of the Training: The graduated students should be skilled technicians and qualified managers. They can meet the demands of production, construction and service department. They should be qualified in virtue, knowledge, health etc. All in all, the aim is to bring up advanced and moderate practical academic talent.
Condition of the College: The college is located in Cangzhou City, a historical cultural city off Bohai. It covers an area of 630,000M2 with constructive area of 150,000m2. The library collects 330,000 books. The experiment equipments and facilities value 25.46 million yuan, which provides for the superior teaching and research. The college has a better environment with the wide band net and telephone in every dormitory. There are 5989 full-time enrolled students in the college.
Teaching Staff: There is 586 staff in the college with 294 professional teachers. There are 21 professors, 120 associate professors in the college. 69 teachers have acquired master degree, among whom 4 experts enjoys the State Council allowance. We also have 14 experts who contributes a lot to Hebei province and 11 experts belong to the most excellent talents in Cangzhou City.
Criteria for the College: The teaching system focuses on practical abilities and technical training. The students are encouraged to cover more majors and get more certificates. After graduation, the students can get kinds of certificates in the field of post, computer, English etc as well as graduation diploma. At the same time, a series of superior courses come into being with mature courses construction. Teaching quality monitoring system is established. The experiment and training bases are set up. All these make sure the teaching quality. Courses like Mechanical and electrical integration and Husbandry and Veterinary are listed as provincial test courses in Hebei Education Department.
Departments: There are 7 departments 3 divisions and one institute, that is: Department of Information Engineering, Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Department of the Urban and Rural Construction Engineering, Department of Husbandry and Veterinary, Department of Chemical Industry Engineering, Department of Management in Economy and Trade, Department of Foreign Language and Art Design, Division of Basic Courses and Division of Education Development and Agricultural Research Academy with more than 50 majors. The students in 38 majors are from 15 provinces and cities since 2005.
Enrollment and Employment：Since 2003, the former academy of agriculture and forestry science, Cangzhou agricultural school and the technological school are incorporated into one college. We make good use of the advantages of the two schools and carry out a series of policies to attract more and more students. We enrolled 1700 students in 2003, 2100 students in 2004 and 2600 students in 2005. In 2005, 1900 students have passed national entrance examination. Now we have 6700 full-time students. The college cares about the students’ employment as well. The ideal is that: first to find the market actively; secondly, to cooperate with enterprise and develop together; thirdly, to form employment network. In the last three years the graduated students can find a job easily and in some majors 100% students can find a job. The ratio of the total employment is 70%. Hebei Kaidi Pesticide Chemical Corporation employs students graduated in 2005 and pre-employs some of the students graduated in 2006 as well. Students from Department of Husbandry and Veterinary who graduated in 2005 were employed in advance. In 2005, 100% graduated students majoring in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Chemical Industry Engineering and Husbandry and Veterinary got employment. This year the college has got through the provincial employment estimation successfully.
New Campus Construction：In order to better the college condition to expand the scale of the college and to carry out an ideal that to build up a high-standard and high-level model vocational technological college, the college begins to construct the main/new campus. Because there are kinds of problems then, the college set out the staff settlement of the “North Campus Towards South”. At first, the college set out the overall planning of the college and began to construct the residential district. At the beginning of 2005, the management system is safe and sound completely and the college begins logically rearranging the land used for research and new campus construction. The college rent 300 mu land nearby used for research for 50 years, which solve the problem about how to make use of the land. From then on, the new campus construction goes on smoothly. At resent the overall project has been approved and the first Project is going on. Science Building and two Students’ Apartment buildings have been put to use, covering an area of 20,000m2. The residential project which covering 87,000m2 has completed its main part. As for the other projects, some are in construction.
Cooperation with College Abroad: In order to make good use of the college resources and for the sake of the students, the college cooperates with colleges abroad actively. In 2005, the college successfully cooperates with Ukraine National Normal University. This project means the success of education exchange between China and Ukraine, which is low-cost, high-level and broad-prospect. This is the first time to cooperate with the famous university abroad in Cangzhou high education. The first group of students has been studying in college for half a year.
After several years' reformation, construction and development, the college has been developing quickly. The advanced ideal of the college, devoting staff, the enrollment and employment of the students predicts that the college is developing into a model high vocational technological college.
