Admission to Undergraduate Programs of China Agricultural University 2010



1. Introduction
Currently, China Agricultural University offers 61 undergraduate programs to international students. The undergraduate programs have a schooling system of 4 years, except that the veterinary medicine program requires 5 years. The programs are delivered in Chinese. Bachelor’s degree and graduation certificate are awarded to those who have finished all the course work required and passed thesis defense.

2. Qualification of Applicants
Foreign citizens under 25 and in good health, with:
(1) Certificate of Graduation from senior high school;
(2) Certificate of HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) Band 5 or above.
The qualified applicants are encouraged to apply for Chinese Government Scholarship (CGS). The scholarship applications should be directed to the governmental departments of overseas study affairs, the related organizations, or Chinese embassies, in their home countries. The application time is from early January to early April each year.
The applicants who are not able to get CGS support may apply to China Agricultural University for Beijing Government Scholarship (BGS) or Beijing Government Scholarship, by submitting the Application Form for Beijing Government Scholarship.

3. Materials for Application
(1) The completed Foreigner's Application Form for Admission to Undergraduate Programs of China Agricultural University
(2) Original or notarized photocopies of senior high school certificate and schooling records
(3) Certificate of HSK Band 5 or the notarized photocopy
(4) Certificate of expected graduation issued by senior high school (for applicants who will be graduating from senior high school in July 2010)
(5) Three copies of applicant's recent photo (cap-free, 2-inch size)
(5) Completed Letter of Recommendation from senior high school/institution
(7) A photocopy of passport (pages with photo, visa or residence permit)
(8) For applicants who are studying in a university, additional materials are required, such as schooling records, on-going study certificate and recommendation from the university
(9) For applicants under 18, a notarization of guarantors in China is required.
(10) The completed Application Form for for Beijing Government Scholarship (if any).
Supplementary materials shall be provided upon request.

4. Application Procedure
The applicants shall submit the signed hardcopy of The Application Form, together with other application materials to Office of International Relations, China Agricultural University, by post mail or in person.

5. Application Deadline:
All application materials for students wishing to enroll in the fall must be received by CAU before the end of April. The university will process application after the application deadline.

6. Entrance Examination
Interview may also be requested by some department/schools.

7. Admission Notice
The applicants may inquire for admission status via the On-line Application System on the website of Office of International Relations in late June 2010. Admission Notice, Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW202),and Form of Physical Examination Record for Foreigners will be issued to the admitted applicants in late June 2010.

8. Visa Application and Admission Registration
The admitted applicants should bring their Passport, Admission Notice, Visa Application Form (JW202), and Form of Physical Examination Record for Foreigners as well as Blood Test Record to the Embassy or Consulate of the People's Republic of China, and apply for a student visa (X visa). In autumn 2010, the students shall come to Office of International Relations, China Agricultural University for admission registration before the deadline indicated on the Admission Notice. The X visa holders must apply for a Residence Permit within 30 days after arriving in China.
