Tianjin University, established in 1895 with the name of “Peiyang University”, is the first educational institution of higher learning in China. At present, Tianjin University has formed various types and levels in international student education including short-term and long-term Chinese language courses, undergraduate, master degree to Ph. D students. There are 42 countries students are studying at this university now, compared with that of 20 years ago, only 10 countries students studied here. Along with increases of international students and their countries, there has formed a multi-culture and internationalization atmosphere on campus.

The School of International Education of Tianjin University has its advantages and characteristics in construction of disciplines, teaching system, course offered, teaching staff, teaching equipment and teaching management which is fit for the development of international student education of the school. Especially, the administrative system and operational mode of the school is more effective which has been proved by way of practice.

The school has 3 advanced video-audio labs, more modern ?equipped classrooms and 3 international dormitories which provided a good living environment for international students, the gross floors area of different buildings of the school is near 20000 square meters.
