Qualifications
1. General Scholars
* The Applicant should be expected to study hard, observe the laws and decrees of the Chinese government and abide by the regulations of BUAA.
* The applicant should have completed at least two years of undergraduate studies in China or abroad, and should intend to continue studying subjects in which he/she already has some background.
* In general, he/she should be forty-five years of age or under.
* He/she should be able to exchange his/her views in English or Chinese.

2. Senior Scholars
* The Applicant should be expected to study hard, observe the laws and decrees of the Chinese government and abide by the regulations of BUAA.
* The applicant should be the equivalent of a Chinese Master's degree or be a candidate for a doctorate in another country.
* In general, he/she should be fifty-five years of age or under.
* He/she should be proficient in English or Chinese.

The following table shows the details about tuition fees for Visiting Scholar program.

Accommodation: For a room in the Foreign Student's Dormitory with a bathroom and kitchen, TV, refrigerator, Air-conditioner, telephone etc.

Application Procedures and Required Documents
1. The applicants for admission of Visiting Scholar program should apply on line first apply on line first and then fill out the Application Form for Foreign Students.

2. The applicants should submit the following materials:
* The Application Form for Foreign Students which should be completed by the applicant;
* A Health certificate which bears the seal of clinic or hospital should be completed by a medical doctor after a physical examination;
* Duplicated copies of a notarized diploma or certificate and notarized school-certificate transcripts of complete academic records;
* Two letters of recommendation from teachers or experts at or above the level of associate professor;
* A certificate from the financial guarantor of the applicant.
All the above-mentioned materials should be provided in English or with a translation in English.

3. All materials should be mailed or delivered directly to the Foreign Students Office (International School) of BUAA.

Admission
All the required documents must be received before the deadline.
